Jean Monnet House (Bazoches-sur-Guyonne, France) | 5 – 8 May 2025

From the 5th to the 8th of May 2025, the Jean Monnet House of the European Parliament together with the University of Barcelona’s European Observatory on Memories (EUROM), the Altiero Spinelli Institute, the Union of European Federalists (UEF) and the Young European Federalists (JEF Europe), is organising the third edition of the European School on Memories.

The seminar will be taking place at the Jean Monnet House in Bazoches-sur-Guyonne (France), 45 kilometres west of Paris. The venue is the farmhouse where Jean Monnet – one of the EU’s founding figures – resided and developed his visions of European unity.

About the event

The goal of the School on European Memories is to address the memory of the solidarity that led to a united Europe.
Through lectures, workshops and hands-on activities, participants will be acquainted with state-of-the-art research related to the European integration process.. They will also gain tools for raising awareness on Europe’s past as the key towards informed choices for the present and future. The detailed programme will be communicated to the participants in due course.

Conditions for participation

The seminar organisers will provide onsite accommodation, meals and local transportation. Moreover, travel costs are reimbursed up to a limit of 175 euros. Participants should be in Paris by the morning of Monday 5 May (bus to the farmhouse leaves from Paris city at noon CEST) and the seminar finishes on the evening of 7 May, with accommodation being covered in Paris until the morning of 8 May.

Participants aged 18-35 from all European countries are invited to apply to the seminar.
