Online training, November 2020
JEF Europe will be organising not one, but three online training courses in the framework of the 2020 Work Plan of Europe at School: New Directions project, which is funded by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe.
This project’s scope is aimed at developing the competences and tools required to work with disadvantaged groups, such as young people with disabilities, Roma and other minority groups, as well as young migrants and refugees.

Where?
These training courses will be held online through the platform Click Meeting. The URL link which gives access to the training will be communicated to the selected participants accordingly.
When?
The online trainings will take place over the following weekends:

- 7 -8 November – Online training focusing on young people with disabilities,
- 14-15 November – Online training focusing young Roma and other minorities
- 21-22 November – Online training for young migrants and refugees’ backgrounds
The training will start at 10:00AM CEST on Saturdays, and end at around 5:00PM CEST, and will continue at 10:00AM on Sundays, and end at around 4:00PM CEST.
About the online training
The capacity building trainings are a 2-day online training aimed at bringing participants from all over Europe together.
The trainings will involve between 15-20 participants interested in working on European Civic Education with young people with disabilities, young Roma and other minorities, as well as young migrants and refugees backgrounds. Youth leader, youth workers, educators and volunteers from different backgrounds will be trained to develop their skills and gain awareness about issues that young people from the target groups face every day.
The participants will improve their non-formal educational knowledge and develop their European civic education skills, allowing them to produce and create new tools oriented specifically at the social empowerment of these disadvantaged groups. The participants will be selected by JEF Europe according to gender balance, geographical balance, and their motivation to engage themselves in the organisation of online follow-up activities.
How will we work?
The methodological approach of the seminar will ensure that the principles of non-formal education are fully respected. This means that the participants will be offered possibilities to fully engage in planning and achieving their learning through various experiential processes, small groups of work, expert inputs and open debates. Related to the inputs provided by external speakers, JEF Europe and its partners will ensure that the speakers who will come to address the participants will be very experienced and able to engage youth in active and meaningful dialogue.
In addition, JEF Europe will provide the selected participants with pedagogical materials related to the target group as well as the Manual of Guidelines, created by the experts involved in the first phase of the project, which the participants will have to read in order to familiarise themselves with the topic and the field of non-educational civic education.
Training Objectives

- To offer space to learn new tools for implementing activities with young people from the target groups
- To develop knowledge on how to set up educational processes with the target groups both online and offline.
- To understand different realities of working with young people with the target groups from all around Europe.
- To prepare specific plans for the organisation of online follow-up actions where participants will use the tools and methods they learned, and knowledge acquired.
Participants Profile

- Interested in the topic and in developing knowledge in working in educational processes with young people the target group of the project (young people with disabilities, young Roma and other minorities, as well as young migrants and refugees backgrounds)
- Experience with implementation of Civic Education or Human Rights Activities.
- Fluency in English.
- Over 18 years old.
- Availability to fully participate in the online training course.
