
The Young European Federalists (JEF Europe) are looking for a senior trainer to facilitate a partners meeting to evaluate the outcomes of the project RE-Acti-On in Liège, Belgium on 17-18 November 2021.
The participants of the evaluation event will be a total of 12 people from Belgium, Spain, North Macedonia, Italy & Jordan.
About the project
The event on 17-18 November is part of #REActiOn, a project with the main objective to empower young people through social media, a new space for political activism, to fight against hate speech. The project aims to create a network of young activists of a transnational character in the fight against discourse of hatred and limitations to social and civic participation.
The objectives are:
- Encouraging and supporting the creation of a network of young activists to fight against hate speech in social media.
- Promoting the collaboration between European social associations, trying to profit from the expertise of each one of them.
- Designing and testing a new methodology that prepares young people to participate and fight for a fairer, opener and more inclusive EU society.
About the event
The event will mark the final activity of the RE-Acti-ON project. It will take place in Liège, Belgium, from 17-18 November 2021, gathering 12 participants from the partner organisations taking part in the RE-Acti-ON project.
The specific objectives are:
- Evaluate the process and activities of the project
- Reflect on the coordination and collaboration between the partner organisations during the event
- Getting to know other strategies and campaigns against hate speech
- Discuss the outcomes of the RE-Acti-ON project
Tasks and responsibilities of the trainer
- Cooperate with the event organisers and have regular communication with them.
- Develop and prepare the overall agenda and program together with the event organisers.
- Prepare session outlines for each of the sessions at least 7 days before the evaluation event.
- Facilitate the evaluation sessions
- Have daily evaluations with the event organisers during the activity and a final evaluation after the event.
- Prepare a final report 2 weeks after the training at the latest.
Requirements
- Ability to develop an educational approach based on the principles and values of non-formal education.
- Ability to transfer knowledge and values related to the activity to the group of learners.
- Previous experience with facilitating evaluation sessions with different organisations
- Ability to collaborate and work in a multicultural team.
- Ability to express thoughts, feelings and emotions clearly.
- Sensitivity to diversity.
- Ability to deal constructively with disagreements.
- Ability to create an inspiring and safe learning environment.
- Ability to stimulate active participation, by motivating and empowering the participants.
- Experience in trainings including hate speech training sessions are an asset
- Proficient user of English language, both in written and spoken English.
- Based in Belgium.
Finances
- The total trainer fee of €200 will be paid by the organizers after the submission of the trainer report.
- Please note that due to special financial requirements, we can only cover travel costs for a trainer travelling from Belgium to Liège up to 100€.
- All meals from Tuesday dinner to Friday breakfast will be covered and organised by the organisers, as well as accommodation from 16-19 November 2021.
