New Resolutions on Multi-Speed Europe, Migration and more

JEF Europe held its Federal Committee meeting from 17 to 19 of April in Belgrade. The Political Commissions and Task Forces had prepared and amended several resolutions that were debated and finally voted on by the delegates. You can find the political resolutions here:

JEF Europe supports a multi-speed Europe only if it is guided by a clear federal vision: centred on a core group of states pursuing deeper political integration while avoiding fragmentation on the ultimate goal of establishing the democratic European federation.

JEF Europe calls for the creation of a genuine European Fiscal Union, featuring a central fiscal capacity, shared risk, and stronger EU-level economic governance, to stabilise the euro, respond to crises, and complete the Economic and Monetary Union.

JEF Europe calls for stronger and more effective EU mechanisms to defend the rule of law, moving beyond unanimity constraints, empowering EU institutions (especially the Court of Justice), and ensuring timely sanctions and oversight to prevent democratic backsliding in Member States.

We call for the full restoration and protection of free movement within the Schengen zone by ending internal border controls and advancing a common, federal EU border policies that uphold fundamental rights.

JEF Europe calls for a strong, coordinated EU industrial strategy that combines green transformation, digital innovation, and global competitiveness through increased investment, resilient supply chains, fair competition, and high social and labour standards.

JEF Europe calls for a truly common European migration and asylum policy based on human rights, solidarity, and fair responsibility-sharing, replacing the Dublin system, strengthening EU-level governance, and ensuring full protection for refugees across all Member States.

JEF Europe calls for a fundamental upgrade of the EU’s Eastern Partnership into a more ambitious, differentiated strategy that strengthens political integration, supports democratic reforms and civil society, and offers a credible EU membership perspective for countries like Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia.

JEF Europe calls for overcoming institutional fragmentation in Europe by developing a flexible, federal framework—drawing inspiration from Switzerland—that allows differentiated integration while ensuring democratic cohesion and a clear path towards a European federation.
