Call for candidates for JEF Europe statutory positions for mandate 2025-2027
JEF Europe is launching a Call for Candidates for Statutory Positions for the 2025-2027 mandate. Candidacies will be presented and voted upon between 14th and 16th of November 2025 at the XXVIII European Congress in Strasbourg, France.
Open Statutory Positions
Statutory positions open for candidacies are the following:
- Executive Board:
- President (1 person)
- Vice-President (2 people)
- Treasurer (1 person)
- Executive Board Member (4 people)
- Directly elected Federal Committee Member (16 people)
- Arbitration Board (5 people)
- Auditors’ Committee (2-3 people)

These include also more practical descriptions of what it means to be holding a specific position based on handover documents from previous mandates.

On the roles of the statutory positions
For a more comprehensive understanding of these roles and the incumbent members elected during the last European Congress in 2025, please refer to the to the People section of our website people. Duties of each body are described in our statutes and rules of procedure. Below you will find brief descriptions of each position and their responsibilities.
Guidelines for running and candidacy
As per the statutes of JEF Europe, there is no set deadline to apply to the positions. All candidacies submitted by 19th October 2025 at 23:59 CET will be published on the JEF Europe website by 22nd October 2025. After this cutoff date, candidacies will be published on the website up to 3 working days after their submission.
Please note that to ensure fairness during the election process, JEF Europe will not be sharing candidates’ campaign material on their social media channels with the exemption of what is described below. Should a candidate be currently holding an elected position in JEF Europe before the election, we will continue to inform our membership and stakeholders about the activities and advocacy our elected members conduct and organise as per usual.
Introduction calls for candidates and coordinated presentations on JEF Europe Instagram Stories
JEF Europe will host three introductory evenings for candidates running for a position in the Executive Board of JEF Europe. Please indicate in the form where you submit your candidacy your availability during the last week of October for an introduction evening for candidates. The online introductions will be hosted by an external moderator and will take between 1 and 2 hours approximately depending on the number of candidates. These will be hosted on Zoom and are open to all JEF Europe members. Due to the possibly high number of candidates, the introduction calls will be this time as follows:
- Candidates to the President of JEF Europe
- Candidates to Vice President and Treasurer
- Candidates to Member of the Executive Board
The change in division from two years ago is to ensure that the calls will not become extensively long and each candidate will have a fair chance to be heard. We will also share short videos of the interested candidates for roles in the Executive Board in the JEF Europe Instagram Stories in the beginning of November. If you wish to be introduced also this way, please submit the additional maximum 30s introduction video of yourself.
All candidates for any statutory position will have an opportunity to present themselves and their candidacy at the European Congress.

President
Please fill in the application form with the information that is specified in it. Maximum length: 7500 characters including spaces for all answers combined.
Besides this, you can share a maximum 5-minute video to attach to your application.
The video should be submitted in an mp4 format. The video can be either horizontal or portrait format. The videos will be published on the presentation page for candidates. For accessibility purposes and comprehension purposes as we speak with different accents which the audience may not be familiar with, please add subtitles to your videos.
Vice-President
Please fill in the application form with the information that is specified in it, and send it to elections@jef.eu and sg@jef.eu.
Maximum length: 5000 characters including spaces all answers combined.

Please specify in your application the responsibility you would like to take in terms of being a Co-Chair of a Political Commission or Task Force or a member of the Presidium and your action plan.

Arbitration Board
