Vacancy: JEF Europe communication officer

JEF Europe – the Young European Federalists – is recruiting a communication officer for the European Secretariat of the organisation in Brussels. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. For further questions, please contact sg@jef.eu.
Vacancy
Communication tasks:
- Daily coordination of communication activities of JEF Europe (social media, campaigning, internal communication)
- Preparation of content for and management of JEF Europe website
- Preparation of content for press releases and articles for political stands of JEF Europe
- Preparation of newsletters
- Communication with national/local JEF sections all around Europe
Project management tasks:
- Coordination of projects/campaigns with other staff members and Executive Board members of JEF Europe
Time investment:
- Working time of 38 hours per week. Work during weekends may occur with time off in lieu as compensation.
- The position requires travels in Europe several times during the year.
Required profile
Qualifications:
- Minimum a bachelor degree or equivalent relevant professional experience
- Fluent in English (excellence in writing and speaking in English) and a very good command of at least one other EU language
- Previous working experience in a CSO on communication would be considered an asset
- Interest in developing skills, implementing communication strategy, engaging in political communication and working with a youth NGO
Professional and technical competencies:
- Very good knowledge of social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
- Good knowledge of all Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), collaborative work tools (Slack, Skype, G Suite, Trello, etc.) and newsletter tools (SendinBlue or Mailchimp).
- Good knowledge of working with WordPress
- Knowledge of working with publishing and photo editing software (Canva, Photoshop, InDesign) is considered an asset.

What we offer
- Fixed term contract of 10 months under Belgian law (additional private medical insurance) – possibility to prolong the contract
- Approx. 1.600 € netto per month
- Monthly ticket for public transport in Brussels (part of salary) + travel reimbursements when travelling for JEF Europe
