Global solutions for global problems
In 2020, several developments and environmental incidents have made everyone aware that some incidents can have global repercussions. This has shown the importance of investing in global solutions for problems that our society is facing today. JEF Europe has already engaged its members in developing solutions for European Governance to meet the challenges of the 21st century and is willing to do more.
One of the pressing issues we have been facing during recent years and young people especially have been vocal and active about, is climate change and its effects on our planet. With the project Global Solutions for Global Problems, funded by the Global Challenges Foundation. In the framework of the project, JEF Europe is launching an essay competition: how global solutions and partnership can help finding solutions to combat the biggest challenges of humanity – the climate crisis?
Through this essay competition, young people aged 16-35 have the opportunity to express their ideas on innovative solutions that will change the current framework of global governance with existing intergovernmental institutions and on how to strengthen values such as peace and democracy in the fight against the climate crisis.
The conditions to participate are:
- Be a young person between 16 and 35 years old.
- An essay, in English, from 700 to 1,000 words under the title: how global solutions and partnership can help finding solutions to combat the biggest challenges of humanity – the climate crisis?
- Send the short essay in the registration form.
- Deadline to send the essay: 31/12/2021
The final prize will be a total of 350 EUR to be sent to the 3 winning essays used for books, online courses, cultural events (local or not).
