The Young European Federalists (JEF Europe) has organized a series of training activities, as part of JEF’s 2024 Work Plan, supported by the European Youth Foundation of the Council of Europe. These activities were carried out in the framework of the LSD project, which aimed at developing the competences of both youth workers and youth-led organisations, focusing on how to sensitively approach, empower, include and work with people coming from ethnic and linguistic minority backgrounds, including Roma youth.

In the framework of the Let’s Speak Diversity project, JEF Europe is organizing a final conference that will bring together participants from the different seminars and local campaign hubs, as well as from other JEF volunteers across Europe for a 1-day connecting event. The conference will include presentations of the work that was done during the project, as well as allowing for exchanges among participants from all across Europe, coming from JEF sections and language and ethnic minority-focused youth-led NGOs.

The programme will cover the following topics, among others: 

• Presentation of the Work Plan outcomes;
• Lessons learnt from the project, from a Local to a European level while providing a space for good practice sharing of all participants;
• A panel debate with Civil Society Organizations and activists; 
• Non-Formal Education exercises to formulate the guidelines on the implementation of outcomes and on the development of a policy paper on language and ethnic minorities. 

During all JEF Europe’s events and activities it is mandatory to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which we recommend you read before applying.

Participation profile, location, schedule and other useful information

Participant Profile

• You must be resident in one of the Council of Europe Countries. 
• Being able to work and communicate fluently in English.
• 18 – 30 years old.
• Interested in the topic and in being involved in supporting youth civic spaces and encouraging youth in participating in democratic processes
• We particularly encourage participants from previous Let’s Speak Diversity trainings and organizers of Let’s Speak Diversity local actions to apply, as we would ask the participants to introduce and present their experiences engaging in youth civic spaces

Schedule

17th of December from 10.00 CET to 20.00 CET.

During your time of the conference JEF Europe will cover your accommodation (nights of the 16th and 17th December) and meals (from breakfast to dinner on the 17th), as well as reimburse your travel expenses within a limit (up to 250€). .

You will receive a confirmation via email if you have been selected by the 3rd of December at the latest, together with the travel reimbursement guidelines. Please check your spam folder as well!

You need to attend 90% of the sessions in order to receive the travel reimbursement
