New Horizons: Apply for CompletEU Advocacy Event

Interested in learning more about EU enlargement? Want to hear from the first-hand perspectives of those living in Eastern Partnership and Western Balkan countries? Believe the EU would benefit from expanding its member states?

Then the New Horizons advocacy event is for you.

As part of the completEU project coordinated by JEF Europe, partners of the project will gather in Brussels on Tuesday 29th October beginning at 5pm to host a European advocacy event focused on discussing peace, democracy, and rule of law.

This event will be an opportunity to hear from policymakers, young people and NGOs about the importance of ensuring democracy and rule of law in candidate countries for the EU, as well as highlighting the benefits of European expansion, and discussing the realities faced by these countries at present.

First-hand experience of young people in Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries will be presented through the research that was conducted as part of the project. A panel discussion of guest speakers and experts will debate rule of law, democracy, human rights and peacekeeping with questions being taken from the audience. Attendees can contribute to an Action Plan for decision makers calling on greater efforts of expansion into Western Balkans and Eastern Partnership countries.

During all JEF Europe’s events and activities it is mandatory to adhere to our Code of Conduct, which we recommend you read before applying.
