Open letter in response to Bulgaria’s veto to EU talks with North Macedonia

Together with JEF North Macedonia, we sent an open letter to Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ekaterina Zakharieva, inviting them to reconsider their approach to the EU accession talks with North Macedonia. We believe that bilateral issues must be solved in good faith, but they can’t be the reason for unilaterally blocking the European integration of any country or formulating additional preconditions on top of the official membership criteria set by the whole EU.
