Call for JEF Europe Project Assistant (paid internship)

JEF Europe – Young European Federalists is recruiting a Project Assistant for the European Secretariat of the organisation in Brussels.
Project management tasks:
- Support in the implementation of international projects and work plans (Next Chapter Europe, Internet Governance, Global Solutions for Global Problems).
- Support in the day-do-day administration of the office and in the organisation of the European Congress of JEF in November.
- Support in the implementation of JEF Europe Capacity-Building Programme.
Time investment:
Working time of 38 hours per week. Work during weekends may occur whenever necessary with time off in lieu as compensation. Depending on the development of the current COVID-19 situation and the ability to organise international events, the position may require travels in Europe.
Type of contract and salary:
- Internship contract under Belgian law (Convention d’immersion professionnelle – CIP) until the 1st of January 2022. The possibility to prolong the intership for 6 more months will be assessed in the end of the year.
- 1.000€ net per month.
- Monthly ticket for public transport in Brussels (50€).
- Covering of travel and food expenses when travelling for JEF Europe.

Profile
Qualifications:
- Fluent in English, and very good command of at least another EU language.
- Interest in developing experience in project management in a European NGO.
- Interest in developing skills in organising long-term international projects and/or campaigns will be considered an asset.
- Experience in working with digital education tools and in online activism will be considered an asset.
Professional and technical skills:
- Knowledge of the Erasmus+ programme and other similar funding programmes is an asset.
- Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and collaborative work tools (Google Suite, Slack, etc.).
- Knowledge of graphic design tools such as Canva.
Personal and professional qualities:
- Very good organisational and time-management skills.
- You are capable of taking initiative and finding solutions to challenges.
- You can work in a team as well as on your own and you are a fast-learner.
- You feel comfortable in an international and multicultural environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Highly valued
- Knowledge and understanding of JEF Europe’s vision, mission, values and projects.
- Experience of volunteering or working in youth NGOs.
