Call for JEF sections to host the Spring 2027 Federal Committee Meeting
The Young European Federalists (JEF Europe) are proud to open the call for JEF national sections to host one of the Spring 2027 Federal Committee Meeting.
We are looking for a motivated JEF section interested in hosting our Federal Committee meeting from Friday evening until Sunday lunchtime in Spring 2027.
The following characteristics are of fundamental importance:
- The hosting city should be relatively well connected to most parts of Europe;
- A dedicated team of minimum 4–5 JEF activists on the spot who will assist the European Secretariat with logistical matters, including venue, accommodation, public transportation and materials;
- Motivation and commitment to explore and apply for local, regional and national co-funding sources;
- Any proposals for travel options, catering, venues and accommodation should be in line with JEF Europe’s sustainability commitments and internal standards.
If your section is interested in hosting the FC, you can send your proposal to our membership officer at jan-gert.zevenbergen@jef.eu and to the board at eb@jef.eu by the 10th of April 2026. The proposal should contain:
- The reasons why you wish to host the FC meeting;
- The name and price (estimate, ideally with quotations) of at least three potential venues, accommodations and restaurants that could host between 80 and 100 people;
- A social programme for Saturday evening;
- A list of travel options showing how to reach the host city from different corners of Europe, including public transportation on site;
- Options for co-funding on the local, regional and national level;
- A realistic provisional budget;
- A brief risk assessment.
Your section will have the opportunity to present its bid at the Spring 2026 Federal Committee, which will take place in Belgrade, Serbia, from Friday 17 April to Sunday 19 April 2026.
Do not hesitate to get in touch with Jan-Gert (jan-gert.zevenbergen@jef.eu) for any further clarifications and/or questions.
Federalist movement in the Levant: Meet-up in Beit Jala

On the 26/12/2025, in the context of the Federalist Peace Forum (FPF) project, Israeli and Palestinian Federalist Peace activists convened in the town of Beit Jala, Palestine to discuss the continued development of the Federalist movement in the region.
The activists discussed, among other things, joint branding, strategy, international advocacy and political development of the movement.
Guest speakers included senior members of the Federal Forum Umbrella organization, representatives from the Alliance for Middle East peace, and Dvir Aviam Ezra, executive board member of JEF Europe. Moritz Hergl, the president of JEF Europe sent a greeting to the event.
This is the largest scale federalist local event in the region to date with a total of approximately 40 participants (some of whom do not appear in the photo for their safety).
The event also prepared participants for the expected concluding event of the project, funded under the Council of Europe Youth Pilot Project scheme, which is slated to take place in March 2026.
You can read the Declaration of young federalists from Israel and Palestine that was written in Ventotene in September 2025 here.
