Call for JEF DELEGATION for UEF European Congress and Federal Committee

 

The Union of European Federalists (UEF) organises its European Congress in March 2026 (exact date to be confirmed). The UEF Congress defines the policies and elects the mandate holders in the statutory bodies. 

JEF Europe is entitled to nominate 13 delegates to the UEF Congress. The top 10 of the list will constitute for the next 2 years the JEF delegation to the Federal Committee (FC). 

Indeed, in addition to Congress delegates, JEF is also entitled to nominate 10 representatives to the UEF Federal Committee. These ten representatives commit to participate in all UEF FC meetings for the whole mandate, that is (usually) the 4 full in person FC meetings. 

The President of JEF Europe is automatically a member of the Congress and FC delegation and comes on top of the 10/13. 

Remember that you may also have an opportunity to be a delegate for the Congress via your national section of UEF.

All JEF members can be delegates for JEF Europe to the UEF congress. Members wishing to be included in the JEF delegation are invited to apply before Sunday 19 October through this form.

The JEF delegates will be appointed by a vote during the incoming FC in Strasbourg. The EB will propose, on the basis of the applications received, a list of delegates, taking into account experience, motivation, geographical representation, all the while respecting strict gender balance. If more than 13 people apply, additional people will be added as alternate delegation members (historically we have asked all alternate members to join each time due to lack of availability and resignations of delegates).

Please note that JEF cannot commit to provide travel reimbursement or accommodation (except for EB members), neither of which are covered by UEF. Participation fees to UEF statutory events is set at EUR 25 for JEFers at the moment and would not be covered by JEF either.
